Snowshoe help!

Snowshoe is legit! All the parks are dialed, just hope that the larger ones are open when you go. I might be there, so hit me up closer to the time your going.

snowshoes good for the southeast, difficulty isn't much different than anywhere else but there's a wider variety of runs.  the cheapest lodging will probably be the inn at snowshoe (at the bottom of the mountain), i think they started running a shuttle service from there last year if you're looking to stay cheap.. i prefer to stay up top because of the convenience to the overpriced resort village/slopes but that also weighed heavily on there didn't used to be shuttle service.   no night skiing at the main resort but silver creek is open and usually less crowded

^^^Well im going to be at Snowshoe for a friday night, whole day saturday, and a sunday morning. Since silver creek is the only resort open at night, I'll be there friday and saturday night, but where do you think I should spend saturday and sunday morning to get the best experience while I'm there?

i'd probably stick it out at the main resort during the day. if you're like 95% of the people who go to snowshoe you'll think the western territory (cupp/shays) will be "amazing" for the length of the run (does not apply if you've skiied outside of the southeast). silver creek is small, you'll get enough of it the two nights you're there- i don't think all of silver creek is lit though so i guess if you wanted to see the whole thing you could head over a little earlier in the afternoon.

Ya that helps alot thanks! One more question, if I bought a 3 day lift ticket, would that be good for all 3 resorts or would it be specific to silver creek or the main area?( would I have to buy a separate lift ticket for the basin area or western territory if I had one for silver creek?)

i've always started at the main area and i know the same ticket is good at night at silver creek. looking at their webpage "Your Snowshoe lift ticket grants you access to all three areas for skiing and riding." so i think you're set.

I'm staying ontop the silver creek resort. I thought I saw on their site that if I had a 7springs season pass(which I do) I get a discount on the lift ticket. I was confused on how that worked when I was reading it. But I'm glad that a pass works for all the resorts.

a lift ticket is good from 9AM-9PM at all parts of the shoe

BASIN SIDE(main) 9am-4:30pm
WESTERN 9am-4:30pm
SILVERCREEK (regular bus rides) 9am-9pm

If you wanna do park, right now the focus is at Mountaineer in silver creek, i would advice not doing park at night because everything refreezes and its hard as shit... mainly because shitty ass snowboarders scrape any remaining powder away from jump landings

Cornholio pretty much hit the nail on the head.  I highly doubt the Western Territory will be open when you go, so you're limited to the Basin and Silver Creek.

As for where to eat, everywhere on the mountain is expensive, but the best quality to price ratio is definitely at Cheat Mountain Pizza in the village at Snowshoe.  Expect to pay about $25 for a pizza that can be split among 2 or 3 people.  It's DAMN good pizza, IMO.

Snowshoe's parks are usually pretty sick, especially their new Progression Session park.  Pretty similar to the Alley at Seven Springs, but the bad part is that it's usually filled to the brim with gapes.  I'm not sure what current conditions are like in the parks but Silver Creek's opening weekend park was actually solid.  A lot of easy features and 2 15 footers but I had a lot of fun, so as long as you're not looking for 70 foot step downs and 40 foot urban rails you will have a lot of fun.

Snowshoe actually has some of the best groomers around.  So if you need a break from park take a few runs down Skip Jack or any of their diamonds.  Pretty fun to bomb them, but watch out, ski patrol are generally douches and one lady almost clipped my ticket one time for "going too fast".

Haha I'm not looking for huge jumps, just anything better than the grass we have at 7springs right now. And Im not to worried about ski patrol since were going to get a free pass and half off the others ha. Thanks for the info and help!
