Hey everyone,
Now that anyone and everyone can post News on the site, I wanted to post up a few rules/reminders for you to keep in mind and follow when it comes to posting news...
• Don't spam. The same rules that apply to the forums apply to the news. To view those rules,
click here. Disregard for these rules will result in the removal of your article and a potential ban from the site.
• Don't just embed a video without an article, or link to a video page on Vimeo, YouTube, Newschoolers or another website. That's what the video section is for, not the news. If you have an article to go with the video, post it in the news, otherwise upload your video to the video section, as it will have just as good of a chance (if not better) of making it to the homepage.
• Before linking to a remote article, check the News page to ensure the same article hasn't already been posted/linked to.
• In the summary field, don't post the entire article. This field is designed for a two to three line summary of what your article is about, and acts as a way to entice people to read it.
• As much as possible, particularly when linking to a remote article, upload an icon photo, as it will help encourage people to read your article.
• Formatting-wise, please center your photos along with the photo captions beneath them, along with crediting writers, photographers and videographers at the top of the article in bold.
Happy posting! :)
