My mom taught me how to ski the day i learned how to walk, she put me down the driveway with little skis and no wiggle worm and she said i couldn't stop laughing and i was having too much fun haha.
3! Super proud of the fact to because I was born and rasied in illinois but all my skiing is done in colorado, people have noooo idea what theyre missing
Started last year at 33. Skated growing up because I was too poor for a car. Went to school, landed a good job and got paid. Now I'm trying to make up for lost time chasing that money. Always hated winters because it was too cold so I decided to fix all that. Best thing I ever decided to do.
i got into skiing to get me through the winter and to the start of bike season. Now it the other way around, biking gets me through the warm seasons until winter comes.
Yeah me to, it kinda sucks though i want to go to college in Colorado or Utah. To bad out of state tuition is around 45K. Also i started skiing in 3rd grade so around 7, ive just recently gotten into freestyle however.
Nobody in my family ever skied or snowboarded, but I decided I wanted to try snowboarding when i was 11. I did that for 6 years and then a friend convinced me to try skiing. I haven't picked up my board since and its been 4 years. Snowboarding was a blast though, I can't deny it.
First time I ever skied, I would have been 12 or so, and then did a few of the yearly school ski trips every year. Then when I was 15-16 or something I really got into it because my dad wouldn't let me buy a sled, so this was the closest thing to it that I could afford. Wish I would have started waaaaay sooner but whatever.
I started skiing when I was 3, snowboarded for about 3 or 4 years around middle school/early high school, then went back to skiing and now I can't stop.
Started when I was 8 or 9, got ski lessons at Grouse Mountain as a birthday or Christmas present, I can't remember which. Pretty much hated it because I don't much care for being told what to do and where to go, I just wanted to jump off stuff and that was frowned upon at the time. I quit almost immediately and didn't start skiing again until I was 14 or 15. Randomly found out that some of my new highschool friends had dabbled in skiing too and decided to go again for the hell of it. Absolutely loved it and never looked back, for most of my friends it became a hobby but for me it was my life. I skied every day after school for the rest of highschool. I almost switched to snowboarding at one point because at the time most tricks involved spreading your legs in some way and that got old but then the 1080 came out and I saw Degenerates and 13 and that was fucking that. I dicked around in university but couldn't stop thinking about skiing so I moved to Whistler.
I started when I turned 3, but only got a couple of weeks a year back then. I still won a few races when I was small though. Then when I was 13-14 I moved to Switzerland and got to ski a lot more, but only got into free skiing a couple of years ago, damn I wish I did earlier too :(
I was 13. Our family took a trip to Crested Butte. I tried the skis on in the parking lot of our condo and skooted around like a gaper. I fell and almost got hit by a snowplow in the parking lot, because I couldn't figure out how to get up. I thought I would hate it at first, but I was sooooo fucking wrong.
Luckily I stopped playing hockey and skiied competitively after my Soph yr of HS since I was 50-50 snowboard at that point. Looking forward to going from good to good good.
