eh it certainly doesn't take away from the value that he directed it. I mean that's what made me find it in the first place, and now I know that it looks like a sick movie for so many other reasons
Yeah, I mean I guess I can understand that. If you're a fan of his you might be more inclined to check out the movie, and the little hidden references that only his fans will understand will probably be kind of cool to see. I personally had never heard of him until this movie came out, but thought it looked sick when I saw the ads on TV so I would have seen it regardless of who directed it.
Right. If you knew the RZA you would be excited the he is directing a kung-fu movie. The RZA produced every early wu-tang CD, every single one of which is full of kung-fu influence, samples, and references. The guy knows this topic very well.
He has also been under the tutelage of Quentin Tarentino for the last five years, learning how to direct.
He was the "leader" of Wu, not just a member. He's appeared in a number of movies. And produced the soundtracks for Kill Bill 1&2. Pretty big rock you've got there.
But could you name an individual member of say, Florida Georgia Line, without looking it up? They're number 3 on the country billboard right now (I looked it up. I don't listen to country either). I mean shit, let's make it easy: name another member of Queen besides Freddy Mercury. How about the other members of Cream besides Clapton? Other than Joe Perry and Steven Tyler, who are the remaining members of Aerosmith?
Haha dude, who gives a fuck? Rap fucking sucks and I didn't know who the apparently uber-famous RZA was. Sue me. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who have no idea who Robert Plant and Jimmy Page are, and they are significantly more well-known and talented than some rapper.
that's the thing though, the RZA is not just some rapper. he's an emcee, grammy-winning producer, multi-instrumentalist, actor, director, author, screenwriter, and the leader and creator of Wu-Tang, also known as Bobby Digital. not having heard of him is kind of like living under a rock, or not having heard of Michael Jordan because you don't watch basketball.
the wu tang dick riding in this forum is reaching insane levels. bunch of dorky white suburban kids get their vags wet over a movie directed by some barely significant rapper - you don't see his name getting flashed all around in the commercials for the movie. You see tarantino and crowe - the only two reasons why I'm going to see this movie.
comparing rza to michael jordan on the level of recognition is mind blowingly stupid
The fact that you care so deeply that somebody doesn't know who RZA is is retarded. I love rap and I know him, nobody else in my school knows him. Do I give a shit? Hell no, it doesn't bether me in the slightest, seriously, who gives a shit.
Seeing as Wu has sold about 10 million albums as a group and Queen has sold around 300 MILLION, not really. And I would say that Method Man is the most recognizable member of Wu-Tang
Roger Taylor and John Deacon also in Queen. Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, and Brad Whitford are the rest of Aerosmith. That Vid is awesome, I felt bad for Robert Cray having to solo after Clapton.
It was hands down one of hte worst fucking movies I've ever seen...RZA should never ever be on screen again - the only saving part of the movie was russell crowe. I especially liked the part were he was planning on shoving that huge ass plug up one of those tiny little asians.
The fight scenes were badass tho
I give it a 2/10 - don't see it unless you have a hard on for wu tang (gonna apply to lots of kids here) or you have 2 hours to waste and someone gives you a free movie ticket
