I mean the idea wasn't bad, it was just horrible execution. Unfortunately things like that only damage the reputation of anything else to come in the future. People will automatically compare you with something like that in any future protests.

I would have been down to jump in with them if I thought that any of them knew what was going on. The fact that they picked wall street kind of turned me off immediately. They were protesting the wrong places, blaming the wrong people. MAny of them were completely retarded.


There def were some people that knew there shit and were there as part of a protest of the right things, unfortunately that all got buried under the pile of ignorance that the masses seemed to be spewing.

With unlimited Super PAC contributions allowed, I would venture to say that lobbyists now have even more power.

I mean in terms of mass protest. It seems you need to do something like that to get your point across these days. Unfortunately everything about it from the location, the name, the ideas of many, basically sucked.

Now every other protest is going to be met with a huge backlash of people pissed at the occupyers projecting it onto anyone else that protests.

well the homeless people and heavy drug users overdosing really didn't help their execution either.

Not ALL of it was there fault. A lot of people just saw it as an opportunity to kick it that cared nothing about what was going on. Homeless people that just wanted free food. Hipsters that just wanted to do something against the mainstream and protest.

Not saying that any of it was really good just arguing that that probably wasn't what they were intending. Unfortunately everything about it kind of sucked. Listening to some of the videos made me WUT hard.

How do you enforce that?

Start by ending citizens united. Get the money out of politics.

But to answer your question, you ban lobbying. that is the answer.

Easier said than done. Even if you ban it, how do you enforce that. How does that stop it from continuing. I think it comes down to us as a people. We are the ones voting. There will always be special interest groups giving campaign money to candidates. These days campaigns cost a lot of money. If you're in office, you want to stay there. Your goal is to get reelected. If you have huge groups that can swing the vote against them, politicians will cave in to them to make sure they're good to go on election day.


If you don't vote for such and such a bill, I'm going to get a bunch of angry ignorant people to vote for somebody else. That's a scary thought to politicians. Because it's very easy to swing ignorant people. Most people pretty much get told who to vote for. If what ever pipeline their information/propaganda comes from tells them that this guy is out to get the, that they should vote for this other guy, a lot of people will listen.


This is all part of the political game these days. You tell everybody that they're very important to you and make a bunch of conflicting promises to make sure you get votes. Then people are shocked that the guy they voted for didn't paint the paint the roads green, red, blue, keep them black. (Horrible example I know but I'm hungry) Just saying that they make 5 different promises that all conflict with one another and yet people are still shocked when the things they were promised don't happen. Yet we still vote for these assholes.


Idk. That's just part of it but how do you even stop that from happening? Just because people wouldn't register as lobbyists(If it was banned) Doesn't mean it would go away. Look at everything that's built up around it.

Always been a fan of following the money trail. People are honestly a tiny bit insane when they actually believe the main candidates in these presidential election are totally legit honest dudes that really only care about the people. People don't spend billions of dollars on lobbying for nothing. They want a return on that.

Okay. I'm trying to explain this still. I mean the idea that something was wrong and something needed to be done. There are some serious problems that should be addressed. Also it kind of requires us to come together to do something about it.

I feel like a law would still help though. I know it's unrealistic to think that it would completely stop lobbying, but it sure would slow it down and prevent large-scale lobbying, which would bevery hard to cover up

Are you going to make it so that large special interests groups can't donate campaign funding? What will decide how big they can be? If not than how can a law against lobbying really stop it from happening?

Idk. It's a shitty problem. I think if we as a people weren't so fucking stupid and thought a little more when we voted, maybe we would stand a chance.

As long as we're voting for who than man on the tv tells us too I think we're fucked.
