I've been posting a lot lately but I'm just trying to figure some things out before my 2012/2013 skiing season begins.
Just some quick info
Age: 17
Height: 6' 0-1"
Weight: 172 lbs.
Ski: 4FRNT MSP Signature Series (2011 model)
Ski Length: 181
Type of Skier: Advanced on the Mountain. Novice in the Park
Long story short, I want to try something new besides green/blue/black runs and so I decided to hit the park. This last year I tried out the park and beat my ski's up pretty good hitting rails and boxes. I'll hit jumps but nothing very big at the moment because I'm trying to teach myself simpler grabs and spins on smaller jumps.
I found that I struggled a with popping/ollying on my ski's (They are pretty stiff) and overall everything I tried seemed more difficult that it should have been. I just shrugged it off and said it was because of my inexperience but I failed to see any progression as the season went on, I'm not expecting to turn into a great park skier in one season or even two seasons but I feel like I should be having a steeper learning curve than I had.
I began looking at more park oriented ski's like the Line Chronic and Armada AR7 and K2 Domains noting that they had a lot better flex than my ski's and seemed to be designed for park first all mountain second.
My question to you is should I invest in a quality park/allmountain ski like those or should I tough it out and continue to work at progressing in the park with my current pair of skis?
