Holy shit I just watched that show for the first time. I cant believe they could take the worlds ugliest chicks and make em hot. Im gonna start saving up about 25 grand to dump into my face.

well the basis of the show is they take extremely ugly people (burn victums, exc) and do massive amounts of plastic surgery on them untill they are hot. It's the most shallow shit I've ever seen I think.

Seriously, every time I think reality TV has hit rock bottom, they surprise me by sinking lower. I mean, I thought 'My big fat obnoxious fiancee' was the worst possible, but then they had that 'Trading spouses' thing... I just don't know anymore. There doesn't seem to be any limit to how bad this shit can get... next we'll be seeing parapalegics and amputees trying to survive in the amazon without their prosthetic limbs. It's disgusting.

MY idea of a reality show is the fat olympics. Making EXTREMELY fat people compete in athetlic events and the prize is food. They dont feed them and the onnly way they can eat is by winning competitions. It would be very entertaining I think

Tune into Chappelle's Show for the next idea for a reality tv series... That Trading Spouses was a direct rip of one of his skits... I'm just glad I don't get any broadcast TV where I live, and I'm too cheap to pay for cable, it's just not worth it anymore... Except for South Park, and the aforementioned Comedy Central TV program.

that show just difgusts me on some primal level, What happens to these people when they grow older? will they just look the same for ever?

and J.D. I think that the next level of lowness that they will sink too will be like 'dorm life' or 'the quest for food: a day in the life of a bum', mostly because i cant see many amputiee's wanting to try and survive in the amazon with out their limbs, even for grate amounts of cash.

The Daily show is still worth it, and some sporting events. As for ripping off Chapelle, that's all networks do these days. If they want a new show, they see what's doing well elsewhere. It's horrible. I almost want to watch Bravo for no better reason than their programming integrity. Almost.

While I was in Japan I witnessed something you might find interesting... Almost all of thier programming was unscripted, either human interest programs or game shows, but very few scripted shows were on. They really didn't follow the same pattern that our reality TV has over here, and I'd have to say it was much more interesting to watch. But one program that stood out over the others was this one where they started the show with 3 people, in 3 small apartments, with a certain amount of Yen to survive (food purchases) for a certain number of days. Because of my small grasp on Kanji and the Japanese language I couldn't tell you particulars, but some of the people went to extreme lengths to save money, because whoever ended the series of episodes with the most Yen won. It was one of the best shows, as far as entertainment value I've seen in a while without it being pre-written or rehersed. I think I'd move back to Japan just to watch NHK, or TBS again, well, no, just to be around Japanese women would be the real reason...

reality tv is fucked. it couldn't be farther from reality. look at fear factor: ya, me and my buddies just sit around on a typical saturday and see how many pig uteruses we can eat. what the hell is that. or temptation island: 15 people with less than 4% body fat on a hot island, and see who will have sex with who, what kind of a reality is that, no most peoples. they should throw some hick farmers into the temptation island and see how that reality pans out.
