Macbook air for editing?

If I get a new macbook air with 8gigs of ram in the 13 inch model will it be fast enough to run final cut pro X on it?

Also here's a new tramp edit I made (I know, its a trampoline edit blahblahblah) Threw it together so it's easily not my best work but I am happy with the outcome.

Is there a reason you want the mb air?

For the same price of a high end MBair you could an even better 13" mbp or even a cheaper, refurbed 15"

Well if you're worried about size, i can see why you wouldnt want a 15" comp

however get this...

it will be so much faster than a macbook air and is actually cheaper than the cheapest 13" air with an 8gb ram upgrade.

... its not cheaper haha its lighter but the 13" mbps are light as fuck too. Like that guy posted, apple has some really good refurb shit. MBairs have very slow processors and minimal ram, no graphics card either. If yuo wanna edit, get a refurb 15" mbp like this one:

the 15" is 2.2ghz quad core, has a graphic card and 4gb of rame (upgrade to 8gb yourself for 40 or 16gb for 80) while the highest mbair is 1.8ghz processor with no graphics card and 4gb ram. Really, you shouldn't buy a mbair for editing especially when for the same price, you could get a way better 15" laptop.

Oh my god Evan. 1350$ for a 15" with quad core i7? Holy shitballs... That's a little over 1000€.
Wish I could sell my MBP for Euro's and then buy a refurb 15" here. That thing packs so much power...
