I agree that its a plus to have allies who like our president, but its not an important factor in deciding our president, i dont think it should be a factor at all. we should vote for who we want to lead our country, not the guy who looks good to other countries.
I do not get why liberals think we need to be like the rest of the world, like the rest of the world is such a great example of how to run a country, its not. when we are talking about certain social issues, gay marriage, abortion etc.. yes i agree, and yes we need to quite with the religion in politics already, it has no place.
ive spent years outside of the US, and i havent been anywhere id rather live than here. the best thing we have going for us is that we are not like the rest of the world. France, Australia, Germany, Finland, Ireland etc.. are some of my favorite countries ive visited, but when you realize the BS Regulations and lack of many freedoms that we have here, they become a lot less appealing as a place to live. and for that same reason the many foreigners im good friends with through my work, love it here, most of them moved here to pursue their career, or start a business and make something of themselves, and the opportunity you have to do so here is better than just about anywhere else.
