How do you dye/paint a goggle frame??

I have some orange splice frames I'd like to make black or something of the sort and was wondering wht the best way to color it would be? Need your help ns! Don't fail me!

Could I make them red? Or white? I feel spray painting will be easier??

Sure, you can basicly color them in any way you want. You should know that you will have a hard time getting them completly white when they are orange. I havent tried white yet, but I would assume they will have an orange glare to them, since the base color is orange.
Red should be no problem since it is so close to orange in the colorscheme.

Black should still be the easiest. Just leave the goggles in longer if you want to make sure they become completly black. If they aren't as black as you wanted, just give them another round.

As far as spray painting goes, well I don't see a reason not to. The paint won't stick in the same way though and will slowly chip away when used. Remember to cover up the foam when spray painting though, otherwise your goggles will be ruined.

The color of the dye must be darker than the color of what you are trying to dye. You can't dye them white, red may work. Painting wouldn't be as durable and you could ruin the foam.

What about black goggles dyed red? should i dye them red then spraypaint then?

I would never recomend spraypainting goggles. It wont hold for long and you will ruin the foam if you dont cover it up or remove it.

If you dye it red you should just get a darker red if it's got a black base color. And if the red is too dark - leave them for a longer period or give them another round.

Dye them, it's the easiest thing in the world takes like 20 min. Boil a pot of water, mix in powdered RIT dye (darker than the current color of your goggles), I used 3 packs of powder. It's overkill, but nothing is shittier than going through the whole setup and having them barely change color. Turn down the heat to a low boil. Drop the frame into the pot and stir every once in a while. I usually leave them in for roughly 10-15min. When the color looks right, remove them from the pot and hold them under running water. Use rubbing gloves while holding them, and squeeze them foam under the cool water over and over until all the dye is out of the foam. This part takes a pretty good amount of time, make sure all the dye is out or it will end up on your face. Let them air dry overnight and boom you're good to go.

Just did that, used only one box of rit black dye. Worked perfect after leaving them boiling for 25 minutes.

they turned out so rad they are more a dark purple but from 3 or more feet away they look black my splice frame was originally orange so i didnt expec for them to be totally blak bt they did come close do love them!
