See that is the key... the splash page is picked automatically by the community. New homepage does the same thing.

See if it were up to me, I'd go all the way on this thing... make forums ordered by votes, and have threads have a filter where too many downvotes automatically bans you.

People in general say they wouldn't like this.

That would lead to some crazy forum politics. Certain cults could just get together and down vote everything someone posts and get them banned. Shit would be crazy. But it might also work.

can you see a certain posters activity on any thread or forum all in one page?

because what you could do is have a system where, if they got enough downvotes, they would be put on a moderation list where you guys could run a "background check" and see what they've been posting and if they're banworthy. that way people can point out the "bad" NSers and you guys can make the ultimate decision.

System doesn't exist, but in theory with enough time, money and reason we can build anything.

I'd go so far as to say if such a system existed, it should go to a jury elected by the people.

I have no problem with the idea of the people of the site electing groups to make decisions.

Exactly my point.

I thoroughly enjoy most of Splice's post. They're utterly hilarious. I don't get why he gets so much hate. He is either trolling or just the most naive kid with the weirdest image of himself. Either way: don't ban him. I'd MUCH rather see another part of this site go than him.
