So lets say you are running the Boston Marathon and you are winning. Not only are you winning but you are about to crush your personal best time and set a record. You are coasting to victory, just have to finish the last mile. As you get turn to finish that last mile you see a little girl being brutally abducted. She is being beaten and tossed around while a man is trying to kidnap her.

You know you can stop him, but if you help you will lose the race. Do you save the girl or finish the race?

No shes a "little" girl... like 12.

And I only picked the Boston Marathon because I couldn't think of something else that would be crazy training and really strenuous to be winning..

Yea I ran the Boston Marathon in 2006 and was winning potentially gonna set a new record for the race... I won the race, I dont know how she made out that day.

Being the person I am, there is no possible way that I could even save that girl. I am too small and after running the majority of a marathon am in no way going to be able to put up enough of a fight. People watch the race. I just simply stop for a second or slow down to yell at people to help her out. They go help, I win the race and everyone is happy. I am the hero she deserves but not the hero she needs right now (possible life long scaring of that gross sweaty skinny kid beating some other guy up).

People are such bullshitters.

Stop running the race to get through the crowd to throw down a kidnapper that turns out to just be the girls father but you're too stupid/delirious to realize that which is the reason nobody else is helping to "save this girl" since there are a plenty of cops around making sure idiots don't run out onto the street and if you're the person in front there are cameras all around you looking at you, the crowd, cops on bikes near you, camera men on bikes around you.


This scenario blows.


You would look like a huge fool. Idiot gives up once in a lifetime chance to win marathon to tackle well loved boston parent.

I'd finish the race. Odds are, since you're running the Boston Marathon, there are an assload of spectators, as well as a couple thousand losers running behind you. I'm not about to stop when there's 50,000 other people there who can help out.

Help the person, the Boston marathon is a mostly downhill marathon anyway so a lot of people break their personal best records. Also records aren't counted in the Boston marathon for that same reason....so yeah there's always next yeah to run.

well if you were leading the boston marathon there would be a camera crew watching you for sure, so they would watch you save this girl and then when the second place and third place guy came by they would look like douches cause they kept on running instead of helping you out. So even if someone else won the race, there would still be some sort of camera crew capturing your heroic act and everyone would know how awesome you were, thus liking you more than the winner or other top finishers.

Yes!

I've got one:

You and your mom are walking down a sidewalk in a downtown area you're almost home. As you walk past an alley way an unarmed man runs out and grabs your mom and drags her into an alley and is about to throw her into his van. While this is happening, across the street you here a scream, it's your sister. She is also being pulled into a different van. Being a physically capable person you see that you can grab the man who is pulling your mom into the car and/or jump in front of him. You would also be able to have enough time to run to the other van and jump into the front seat to take the keys.

what do?

im stopping and slowing down and yelling at other people to help her. How many times can you get the hcnace to win the boston marathon. Plus you would be way to tired to help the girl.


the fact is this is an extremely unrealistic situation especially at the mile marker from the finish because there are so many people are that while it could happen, very unlikely. And if it did happen someone would see if and chances are the authorities would react
