That's a pretty good argument but I don't agree that world peace isn't possible. You say there are too many religions.
When people realise that believing in some religion, or mighty-one, is nothing to be respected, and just shows ignorance and the opposite of open-mindedness, religions might start to become unimportant, and we may take a step towards a category 1 civilisation.
If you look at the last few hundred years, people have started waking up and actually becoming aware of the way we have previously been misinformed by apparent superiors. True, there are still people who don't think evolution is real, and that the world was made 7000 years ago. In general, though, I actually think the situation is getting better, and if we don't get destroyed by weapons soon, maybe we will make it through.
