What to do near Salt Lake end of January

So me and a few friends are looking to make a two week trip out west around the end on january.

Were looking to do some mountain biking in the Moab, and skiing is the obvious main attraction. Anyone have any other activities that we should look into in the area?

Also, whats the deal with the local resorts as far as combo lift tickets and public transportation?

I can't speak to the lift combos for all resorts but I do know that they do seem to all offer some.  Public transportation is pretty good up to the mountains but it can take a LONG time depending upon where you are staying.  It would definitely be WAY more convenient if you had a car.  So ideas of things to do during the winter.. Obviously spend most of your time skiing, you could check out flowrider in ogden (~45min), go fishing on the provo, go to one of the tramp gyms around (biggest one in the US is about 30 min away), check out the uinta's if you have the money to rent a sled.

Hey just some advice, I dont think you're going to want to mountain bike in january. I went over spring break and it was pretty cold, and snowed multiple times. January would be a lot worse

Yeah that's what I was thinking but a friend in the area who goes a lot said that prime time in the moab. Dunno but trust him

Snowgression and Progressive Power Tumbling. Olympic trampolines + foam pits. So much damn fun!

Its lowes air sports now. Place is sooo sick, dont go to snowgression unless you want to pay an ass load to jump on tramps.


Airborne just upgraded there whole place too, cheaper than snowgression and the jump is into a bag instead of a pit.

Transportation is going to be great that time of year. The train running from 30 miles north of salt lake to 50 miles south will be completed. I reccomend "lowes extreme air sports" in provo (the south end of the train line" awesome tramps and foam pits. Ps lowes extreme air sports is the same as progressive power tumbling as refered to in previous posts.

PPT (now Lowes Xtreme Airsports) is super fun and relly cheap. Airtime or whatever its called down by Walmart has a ski jump but I haven't been there yet but I've heard good things about it as well.

I dont know if i would say warm. The average january high is 42 degrees and the average low is 18.

Airborne trampoline arena is the best one by far. A little more expensive but I think its worth it.
