my room mate lives in Dewey, DE and lost his house, and my buddies beach house in NJ is completely flooded. I'm in France for the semester and all the news i get on the storm comes from this thread, I had no idea it was THAT bad!

My mom took a trip to NYC and was supposed to come home on Monday, but now she is stuck there until tomorrow at the earliest. She said there was no power South of her and no mass transportation. Now everyone is being evacuated from her hotel tonight.

Town where my beach house is is currently underwater. My friends is destroyed and I just got power back in my house. It's been 4 days and some places around me won't get it back till next week.

This whole event really got me thinking. In the event of a more widespread disaster, one that totally depletes the food supply from grocery stores, civil society in that region could honestly collapse. People are like a week of true starvation away from turning into total animals. If people are shooting each other over gas, imagine a food or medicinal supply shortage. Crazy shit.

I live in a zone where are many hurricanes, thunderstorms, and my house was full of water 2-3 times. The third time I didn't have money to make ( to repair, to change the furniture) something in my house and I didn't know what to do, where to go. I was confused, however, a neighbor came in helping and he gave me the number from www.Damagecontrol-911.com and he said that they would help me with my problem. I called them and they are a great help because they are specialized in water damage and they recovered all my house. Moreover, now I don't have problems with mold.
