Official Hurricane Sandy preparations/damage/updates
im currently on the east coast preparing to get smashed by sandy...its funny because i have a friend, whose mothers name is sandy... now give me your funniest jokes.
currently getting raped by this storm, glad power came back for a bit but it won't be here for long. 60-70mph gusts about to hit. here are a few photos I took from my grandparent's house. Waves are breaking about 300yds out of the mouth of the river and rolling back in. It should be low tide right about now, but up river at my house, it looks like mid tide. Fuck.
It's very very windy and pouring in Portsmouth NH right now. The wind is so strong its shaking my whole house violently. 65,000 NH residents without power right now. Luckily the power has only flickered periodically, but its only a matter of time before we lose it. Time to hit the wine...
Best hurricane twitter post: Don’t worry, if it’s a legitimate hurricane, you won’t be damaged. Just sit back & relax, because this is something God intended to happen.
fuck that, these guys were almost getting slammed into the rocks that are right around where they were. Not to mention the tide is heading out and if you get caught in it, you're out in the big stuff, good as dead
literal walls of water were rolling in, its low tide in an hour at my house, and the mudflats you see around 3 hrs before and after low are still not visible. None of the water can get out of the river, which just means when it turns it's going to rush in.
I'm about to start getting the worst part in delaware. power will probably go out soon. the lower parts of DE by the beach are already flooded and NJ is getting destroyed on the coast. lower manhattan is next.
hasnt been too bad in central mass, just windy and maybe a inch or two of rain. no trees have fallen yet and power has flickered on and off but as of now we still have it. word
Damn dude, your like 45 minutes away. My brother used to go to Cortland and we ride Greek Peak pretty much every weekend. We'll be alright up here. Just lots of wind.
