Perfect Jacket

So I have partnered up with one of my college friends and we are Attempting to make the perfect jacket. Obviously it will be the perfect jacket for skiers but, we also want it to be suitable for walking to and from class.


SO im here to ask you what you think would make or be the perfect jacket for all situations include skiing. We want to know everything from Bright or dark colors, sleeve length, material, number of pockets, pocket position, and anything else you think would make the perfect jacket for you. LITERALLY ANYTHING THAT WOULD MAKE YOU HAPPIER WE WANT TO KNOW.

If this all works out we will be able to provide a solid product in the near future that you helped create.

-waterproof + breathable.
-shell or very minimal insulation (I'd rather layer up underneath so layers can be taken off/on to achieve optimal temperature no matter the weather conditions)
-inside pocket with vertical zipper over left breast a must.
-sleeves long enough so when I reach straight up they'll still be at my wrists, not halfway down the forearm
-cinch-able bottom, to prevent snow entering up
-closeable vents. under armpits are great.
-light colour like a red, so can be seen easily if buried in snow
-two sets of outside pockets are great (breast pockets + waist pockets)
-abrasion/rip resistant outer fabric

that's a good start

if you guys are looking for perfect fit go look at the setup that the requiem jacket has, the pockets are hand warming accessible while being a tall as fuck fit, its slightly insulated and i fucking love wearing it to class.

the one thing to add is hyphyer colors, a fur hood and sleve pockets, and 2 secret stash pockets and its all good yo!

check the pockets to fly!

have the sleeves LONG very very LONG , so sick of my cuffs coming off when i try to do any thing
have those things that go over you thumbs in the sleeves to stop snow getting in
have inside pocket for electronics that does not leak or get condensation

basically everything said so far besides fur hood. What u really need is on the bottom of the sleves velcro or something like that to keep the snow from getting into your jacket. in is honestly the biggest pain in the ass when that happens

One of the biggest issues with buying a super long steezy jacket that looks good on the ski hill is that it looks ridiculously stupid as streetwear. My suggestion is having the ability to fold and unfold the bottom of the jacket. Have it unfolded for the hill and do it up with a different zipper or button system then fold it up into the inside of the jacket that looks stylish on the streets. Im calling copyrights on this lol.

I absolutely hate jackets that do this. most uncomfortable feeling ever.

how bout a hood that secures onto the jacket. So that when i'm trying to spot my landing, the fucking hood doesn't slap into my face completely blinding me.

- make sure the sleeve length is shorter than the actual jacket so the jacket can be a bit bigger
- removable sleeves so for the hot days u can have a vest!
- nice colors not just one color ex. black, blue. Mix and match like blue and orange or black and red together
- pockets inside the jacket and a headphone jack.
- key holders, tool holders, pass holder

I like to have a storm flap over the front zipper even if the zipper is "wind proof"

Maybe a slightly higher collar so you can bury your nose on the walk to class on a cold day if you don't have a face mask.

Echo hood magnet and longer sleeve length.

I have a jacket with heavier duty mesh as the inner layer. Sounds weird in writing but it is awesome.

Slim, tall fit , buttons on the outside of the jacket, about 15k/15k, 4 big pockets, drawstring going through the bottom, powder skirt, wrist gaiters, pass pouch, sick earth tones, cool design on the inside. That's pretty much the list for me

just an idea I like to ski in rlly tall jackets and walk around in large jackets (bigger than normal) but not extremely big you should make a hidden zipper or something to change the length of the jacket

Put a wire or something in the brim of the hood so that the hood doesn't collapse around a persons face. I have a Sessions jacket with it and it's very convenient.

modern design yet simple colors. no FD vertika shit.

shell, for sure, and definitely have a fur-lined hood.

magnets or snaps for the hood

GOOD SIZING. like have the smallest be about 30 inches tall and make a size for every 1.5 inch increment all the way up to like 37.5 inches tall.

super insulated pockets.

interior breast pocket with hole for headphones

rip resistant material

armpit vents

powder skirt (removable would be ideal)

some magnets/snaps to make sure the hood STAYS UP WHEN YOU WANT IT TO.

pretty much what everybody else has said.

but i do like the under armor sort of material at the end of the sleeves that your hands go through, and into your glove, to keep snow out of you wrist area.

and color wise, look at bloom's stuff. this and last years, i love their color schemes.

its hard to make a jacket perfect for life and skiing. ski jackets are baggier and a lot longer.
what i would do is take the north faces standard rain jacket, then make it very similar but gortex. then add 2 inches length and sicker colors
