XGames is looking to leave Aspen and LA.

According to the article the contract for hosting XGames in LA is up in 2013 and the contract for Aspen is up in 2014:

So where would you like to see XGames (both summer and winter) held after the contracts are up? It's kinda hard to think of them being somewhere else since they've been in the same place for so long. Personally, I'd love to see an east coast location, but I doubt it'll happen. I feel like Philly or San Diego might be interested for the summer. And either PC or Tahoe for the winter.

the current timing of X-games gets in the way of the Sundance film festival, which turns PC into a shit show already, so unless they changed the dates too, PC wouldn't be able to do it.

If i remember right, the lack of snow during the olympics was for the events at cypress primarily. Whistler was just enough higher that it made it out ok. But whistler still doesn't stand a chance because as others have mentioned the development needed is too high up. They don't have the terrain to shift the park lower and the snow is definitely questionable at that point too. Plus xgames is still primarily an american event, I can't see that changing.

Although pc seems like a good second choice, aspen has the personnel and years or experience and that counts for a lot with an event of this scale. Why risk first year hiccups somewhere else if it isn't needed?
