Mac/iPhone Users: HELP

Hi

My Macbook Pro application Messages (or iMessages) seems broken. It stopped working after I messaged someone with huge amounts of question marks whilst they did the same to me.

Obviously it was a stupid idea, but now I'm looking for a way to fix it. When I try to open the app, it does nothing, and the light-blue light comes on underneath it to say that it's running. Right-click offers "Application Not Responding", "Options", "Show All Windows, Hide, Force Quit".

Any help appreciated! :-)

Have you tried restarting your computer? Reinstalling the application?

Yes I have restarted, and you can't reinstall iMessages on this version of OS X because it is required, so will not allow you to uninstall it in the first place.

On a different note, I tried to insert my penis into the USB port, but now I cannot remove it and will have to ask for suggestions to get it out, please help!

Force quit isn't much use, seeing as I want to use the actual app. Yes, though, I have tried force quitting it, and that works pretty well actually (probably done it 10 times by now).

Any suggestions Mac nerds?

Force quit, then restart, make sure the application actually closes before you restart it.

Have tried this several times, application was definitely closed - you can't restart if it isn't closed because a warning message comes up.

That would be one of the biggest coincidences I have ever witnessed. I literally sent thousands of pages worth of question marks over iMessages, but 17:00 EST is about when I was messaging, so you might be right. Thanks for this! :-)
