I really hate the way Burton has been going in the last few years. They don't have that unique feel to the label anymore. They just make every possible thing that's related to snowboarding and there's nothing unique about it (apart from maybe their EST that r a total load of shit anyway). Look at their line up of boards. They make just about every possible combination of cambered/rockered boards suited for the absolute beginners and range right up to the advanced riders. Where as when u look at lib tech for example, their line up in boards r better suited for just the advanced riders. If u were to see someone on the hill strapped into a Burton custom, and then see somebody else strapped into a lib tech banana magic or maybe an attack banana, which person would you think knows what's up? I work at a shop and a lot of the time a customer walks in with not much of an idea about snowboarding and want to try on boots, they always seem so familiar with Burton products over say thirty two or other brands.
What i hate most about what Burton r doing here is that their not offering the brands to anybody else. If Burton really was that company that do it for the ride and not the money they so often claim to be, then they would at least sell the brands rather then just straight up shut it down. I also feel that Burton could have done a lot more with those brands in the time they've owned them and could have made them much more successful but really did not seem to care. Its sad but tits.
that being said, if i had to choose one company to shut down, i'd say technine (i know it's not a ski company) theyre bindings r like lego and theyre boards r shit too.. not to mention theyre horrible take on outerwear
