Hi i am looking into buying a Sony PAL camcorder from a canadian seller, but i live in New Hampshire. Because of american NTSC standards, i understand the device is not compatible with my television but are there any forseeable limitations when it comes to editing video on my computer (I have a MBP) +K for answers

You will have a miserable time using a pal camera in the US. It uses a different refresh rate that does NOT correspond to the US/N.American AC power rates. You will see awful awful flickering when filming using any sort of artificial light.
Canada is NTSC too, btw. All north america is.

YES THEY ARE NTSC.
Don't limit yourself with one. Not to mention you'll notice the flickering on your 60hz monitor and will give you headaches
