I'd like to know weather he's using a high def wide angle lens and key framing, or adjusting the zoom after a certain number of photos to follow his subjects

That video had nothing to do with HDR, but was a solid timelapse video though, actually creative with movements and such.

actually there is such thing as HDR timelapses. He couldn't of got such dynamic lighting without HDR.
