Replying to Sony DSR-PD150

Hey NS, figured I'd ask you guys a few questions about a camera I just picked up. Found this Sony DSR-PD150 for $10 in non-working order. The people at the store couldn't give me specifics on the problem, but for $10 i figured, fuck it. Does anyone have experience with this camera? It came without a battery pack. Should I get one first and then try to diagnose the problem? Do you think it would be wise to send it to an online repair service? If so, any suggestions? How much will this cost me. Battery pack costs around $30 and I have a budget of around $80 to get it working again. here it is. thanks
