Nikon D5100

So i have been making videos with the GoPro/GoPro HD Hero2 and im kinda sick of using them, i want to be able to use the focus to get some different shots and so forth. What do you all think about the Nikon D5100 to do video along side the GoPro's?

Right now i just have the Nikon D5100 and the stock lens with it, just wanted to see if you all thought this would be a bad idea of if it may work?

it will work, but it's not the best since it doesn't shoot in 60p and has no manual exposure control in live view. the new(ish) d3200 is a lot better in terms of video

Great, thanks for the info looks like i will be selling my D5100 for that then.
