so i'll be buying some fat skis this season and i'm pretty stoked. right now i'm looking mostly at the magic j and the pettitor. any word on these skis? i will be skiing some pow/all mountain and i like to hit small to medium cliffs (anywhere from 5 to maybe 25 feet). i jump off whatever i can as long as its not massive. i'm 5'8" and about 130 pounds. these skis will be mounted with barons. i'd rather get dukes but i feel at my size it would be borderline unsafe to get them. also i'm open to suggestions of other skis you guys like!
Just throwing this out there, but my buddy just got Bluehouse Maestro's. Super cool ski. Looks like a lot of fun and very versatile. You don't need a 120+ waist ski anyway. I think the Maestro is like 114mm under foot or something. Can do anything with it.
^ light is definitely nice especially with a heavier "touring" binding
and to TijmenDal, yeah thats definitely an option. and i'm not that worried about a huge waist i just liked the looks of those skis. maestro is somewhat similar though it seems. i'll for sure look into it more. thanks for the word!
I recommend the JJ's, I have them and absolutely love them! From what you said you're looking for I recommend the JJ's, pretty pricey but I have seen quite a few threads for some used ones. Ianprovo is selling his pair from last year. They handle great around the mountain, moguls, tracked out snow and just deep pow. Unless you are skiing back east, they wouldn't be worth it because you would never use them! So if you're live in an area that gets good pow, check out the Armada JJ's.
thanks for the input man! i may look at those cause i believe the magic js are 126 underfoot? not entirely sure. but if they are that seems a little big for days when i just wanna shred all mountain and chop
