My Life Is Shit

As the title says, my life is complete crap right now. I just got arrested for pot, right when it starts snowing. I have been suspended from school since monday, doing nothing but clean my messy ass garage. And now i cannot go skiing the first weekend that there is snow. Sorry for venting on here. just had to let it all out

Damn i combined my 2 facts.

If you have shoes you are wealthier than 50% of the world.
If your family makes more than 10k a year, you are wealthier than 90% i believe.
If you have access to clean water, you are wealthier than 25% of the world.

I probably messed up a couple of them a bit but the point still stands. OP's life does not suck and there are billions of people who would give anything just to be where he is right now.

While I'm not disagreeing with you about the first world being rich in the global perspective, I don't think it's appropriate to call it wealth (in the monetary sense) if you have clean water. Someone who makes no money and has no shoes might have an abundance of clean water. If clean water represents wealth, so can happiness in a way, and therefore - some of the poorest people in the world, may well in fact be some of the richest.

I agree completely. To them, just having that water or whatever it is to them is wealth. Some of the poorest people in teh world are also some of the happiest. Wealth doesn't dictate happiness. But you do have to realize that everyone on this site has it way better off than the majority of the world so when you think about things like, "I got busted for pot" or whatever it is, it's not the end of the world. Ya it sucks but oh well, you have a lot more to be thankful for than not.

Just like we relate money with wealth, people around the world in 3rd world countries may consider water and food or shoes or anything like that to be a sign of wealth.

I think thats what you were saying and I agree wholeheartedly. My point still stands that OP doesn't have much to complain about...
