Hi. I have always wondered what would happen if you fully laid back onto your tails and went off a jump. Obviously you would probably have to do a backflip or rodeo, but would it work? Would you need to go faster because you aren't poping? Would it kick you weird/would you be able to get any momentum to initiate the flip? What do you guys think? have you tried it/seen it? I think it would look sick..
Im sure some gapers done it unintentionally and probably really badly hurt themselves (lol) but u wouldn't really flip, ur legs would kick up a bit and u would just sort of hot tub it and land on ur ass or back
no, 100% true. look at the OP. he is asking what happens if you literally lay down on your skis. you are descriping a sitback/layback. I know what you are saying but its not what the OP is asking
thanks everyone, that was kind of what I've been thinking for the most part. Really no way to practice it, but I bet there's a reason it's not done more often. Maybe you could extend your legs forward and then bring them up and in to get the flip but... I'm not going to test it :P
i know exactly what hes saying. Ive done and seen people do that. its not far off from a lazyboy just laying further back the physics are the same for both, if anything the further you are back on your skis the easier it is to turn your body around and get back on axis. you just have to be carful when you takeoff that you have your balance center so it doesnt throw you on your stomach when you hit the lip.
