Sound Devices Pix 220 is probably the best recorder I've seen when I was looking around at them a few months ago.
Sound devices makes some of the best mixers and preamps in the game, and they threw a recorder on top of a preamp with XLR ins. Has a 3:2 pulldown removal built in, nice monitor, SSD or CF card recording options, ProRes, etc. More expensive, but most features for the total price makes it worth it, IMO
Blackmagic hyperdecks are cheap, but lack any more features than just recording. SSD's so kind of pricy, no audio ins, no monitor, no 3:2 pulldown.
AJA Ki Pro Mini's are large, no monitor, but XLR inputs, dual CF card recording, very standard use in the industry. Cant remember if it has 3:2 pulldown or not. Most expensive though around $1900.
Convergent Designs Nanoflashes don't have XLR, use sony EX format, dual CF cards
