How do you feel about social networks?

How do you guys feel about social networks today in general? I ask because a) im generally interested and b) im looking for input on a new start up I am working on.

Personally, I feel like social networks, especially Facebook are getting really dull... the general quality of information and enjoyment I get from Facebook has really faded. IMO.

What would you guys like to see from a new social network?

i did it because the only people i kick it with or hear from these days are my family and four or five friends. call me antisocial if you want, but i found myself constantly checking the news feed and spending hours reading the opinion and thoughts of a bunch of people i dont know anymore or havent talked to since highschool. lately ive been spending much less time on the computer (you should try it sometime) and am feeling happier and more satisfied with who i have in my life

I think it's interesting reading other people opinions sometimes. especially those from people I don't know very well. given it is often communicated poorly and based off ignorance there are sometimes interesting view points that I would otherwise not been exposed to.

Personally I would worry about only talking to a limited number of people because when hearing opinions and view points from a similar group you would start thinking they are the only ones that exist.

if you spent a day reading these peoples statuses then im sure that you would agree to disagree. you have probably met more interesting people or more likable people than i have

If you have a reason for deleting your account then its one thing, but the people who do it just to be like fuck society are just silly. The majority of people I know who have deleted their facebook were on facebook daily and posting all the time before they deleted it.
