The only good thing about BURTON, and now it's GONE

Huge restructuring going on in the snowboard world.

In the past months, Burton has gotten rid of it's skate brands (Alien Workshop, Habitat, etc., which were under DNA Distribution), and today they announced that they are bringing the company back to its roots and focusing solely on snowboarding. As a result, all Analog Spring/Summer wear will be phased out. Gravis will no longer be readily available in the states. And the hardest part to swallow is that The Program (Forum, Foursquare, and Special Blend) are gone.

I know it's very easy to hate on Burton, but Analog streetwear was the BEST. And The Program was just about the most "core" part about Burton.

I don't think that means the death of those brands, they just won't e part of Burton anymore. I think it's cool that Burton just wans to focus on snowboards instead of this mess of stuff

Gravis and analog will be fine they aren't even underneath DNA distribution haha. Alien workshop and habitat are fine too. Rob Dyrdek bought DNA from Burton. Burton is unaffiliated with DNA and has been since he bought it last spring.

True, they're not related to DNA Distribution. I only included that to give some background on the recent restructuring. Analog and Gravis, however, will be VERY strongly affected.

You seem to think these companies only thrive in snow sports or something. They will hardly be affected at all. They just won't it has nothing to do with them. Gravis is based out of Costa Mesa... how will they have a hard time selling to the USA? Same goes for analog. I just don't see your logic in connecting these two things that are completely unrelated.

Thats almost as crazy as saying burton is concentrating on snowboarding therefore vans shoes is gonna have a hard time selling... Like no. They are unrelated.

Maybe you're right, and maybe I think this will be a bigger change than it actually will be. But did you read ANYTHING in the article? Gravis will no longer be based in the states, and all of Analog is moving from Cali to Vermont.

Yeah I read the article I just have a hard time believing it because of the source and the obvious incorrect statements that were made within. So yeah. I'll believe it when I see it.

And yea, I guess this is it for Forum? I have a hard time believing it, too. Is it possible they will continue to exist, just not under the Burton umbrella? The Program truly is for boarders, by boarders, so if they go belly-up, I bet they all get back together and start something newer and radder.

I feel like if this is all legitimate that the companies getting boned by burton will have the option to buy out burton's spot in the umbrella and continue working and distributing together. I just have a hard time believing that analog will completely shut back and go to being solely snow. They have some legendary skateboarders on their team and equally amazing surfers. Anyway I will definitely stay informed on this. Because gravis gets me super hard. They have the best quality and shapes in their skate shoes I will have to stock up if they go under.

I'd say so since Stevie's FB thanked SB and Forum and many of their promising am's have gotten the boot recently. Nic and Pat and the heavies won't have an issue going to a bew team.

Forum and special blend were SO AWESOME! but the one thing I will miss the most are the movies they made the best ones!! they always had a vibe in them that was so sick sucks that wont be around anymore.... :(

From a business point of view, it sounds like they are throwing themselves off a cliff. I go to a school in Chicago where there are about 5 snowboarders and skiers, and everyone has analog and Burton streetwear.
