Armada Halo all-around performance?

So I love these skis. I've demoed them both summers i've been to windells, riding them for 3/4 days instead of the intended 1. that's how much i like these skis in the park. They're pretty much exactly what i'm looking for in a park ski, light, soft, and playful.

what i really want to know is how these perform outside of the park. I only have the $ for one pair of skis, and am having second thoughts about getting these. The 82 waist makes me feel like they wouldn't be great outside of park or groomers, but i've read some reviews saying the rocker makes up for it. i want to know how the halos handle bumps, chop, crappy stuff, and even a bit of pow. I don't ever really ski deep pow, but i would like to have a ski that can manage some powder, say if it's snowing nonstop and the park and groomers are dusted. Does anyone have any experience with these skis out of the park?

Try the line chronic or Step up. or even the AR& thoes are good all mountain groomer ski.s

yep. You could also look at the k2 recoils. You could get a great deal on last years recoils.

ive heard stepups and recoils are kinda heavy though... and neither are very buttery? the chronics definitely seem good, but i haven't tried them since they got rockered and lightened

on3p filthy riches are 88 underfoot and also rockered like the halos, but they are symmetrical which makes them much nicer

The new Line chronics amazing, i have them. and i had the same problem, i was going to get halos, but im pretty sure i made the better choice.

I'd suggest trying the alpha 1's. they're a little stiffer than the halo and are good for all mountain

The halos are absolutely boss in the park, but I didn't find their shape too conducive to mt shredding. They don't chatter too much, but do tend to get a little washy and ride short. That being said if your lookin for somethin more mellow, jib the mt and get creative on mostly on piste stuff they could fit the ticket

My halos slay everything but powder. Def more of a park ski but still awesome on most other condiitions

The halos can handle shitty snow or pow under 10 inches. I wouldn't reccomend them for riding outside the park though. I would go with the ARVs if your looking for an overall solid ski that will rip anything. Hope that helps you make an informed decision

if you center mount them they will suck for all mountain.

its not a symmetrical ski, so center mounting isnt necessarily the most versastile spot on the ski. if you plan on skiing a mix of park and all mountain, consider mounting 1.5-2.5 cm back. the factory recommended line at -2.5 is there for a reason.

I have 2 questions. How do the halos handle jumps? Also, how durable are they?

the halo's are fine up to medium size jumps, now if you're hitting like 70+ foot kickers it might be a different story though, but in my experience they actually are really solid on jumps as well as jibs. I haven't heard anything bad about durability either, armada makes pretty rock solid skis i guess

Super durable I only had one very minor tip delam that was fixed and tiny cores hit after a full season of skiing shitty snow and 60 percent rails. Hope this helped also to op halos kill crud and are average for groomers but not great

I've ridden my alpha 1's for two seasons now, both in and out of that park in every condition imagineable. If you size up these skis can charge anything! obviously not the perfect all mountain ski but you can confidently send a pillow line on them or drop some 15-20fters. I really liked mine out of the park...so i imagine you'd like the halo's too, except they are softer..so wont charge as hard.
