Picking a ski, Fairly stiff, wider, allmountain/park

OK so I've had several pairs of skis over the years, Salomon Guns, Salomon 1080s, Line Anthems, Line Invaders, Atomic Bentchetlers, like alot of these skis, learned what I like in a ski and what i don't like.

What i hated in some of my old skis was when i got up to high speeds (especially on east coast skating rinks we get quite a bit) they would seem to just have nothing to them, be really unstable etc. I hated the feel of the narrower skis in the park and around the mountain compared to wider skis.

So I have bentchetlers now for pow days so i don't need something for pow. I want a wider ski that has around a +/-90mm waist, camber, fairly decent sidecut, twin tip, and fairly stiff.

Im looking for people who have experience with any of the following skis that i've found.

Now im on a budget and ive found the following on sale

2012 Surface Double Times

2012 K2 Recoils

2012 Armada El Reys

The reason im asking is because almost every review ive found has one that contradicts it for example i made a thread here about elreys and they told me they were the best, fairly stiff etc, and ive read and seen reviews where they say they're bottom of the line and very unstable at higher speeds because theyre softer.



PS would it be uncommon for someone who's 6'1 185lbs to have 18din bindings on park/allmountain skis or would 16din be better for me?

And there's nothing wrong with running an 18-DIN binding.  As long as you really need an 18-DIN binding.

K2 Recoil
It's got directional taper but can still ski switch no problem. I skied it through everything from hardpack to mush and I found it stable and responsive.

As far as your din settings go, you never want to be cranked all the way up to the highest level allowable. Bindings are designed to be most effective around the 60-85% range of the Din range; i.e. a binding with range of 4-12 will be at its best around 9 or 10. If you want a 13-14 setting you should go with din 16; 14-16 go with din 18. Just make sure you need that high of a setting before rolling with it otherwise you could totally shred your knees in a hurry.
