Stupid mount question

Lets say you mount dead center for a 25 boot. Then you some how get a 28 boot, wouldn't you need to remount the binding to be more balanced/centered for the bigger boot?

I just went through the same thing and decided to get remounted because ithe skis were uncentered if that helps

I say if your off by maybe -2 or less you'd be fine and save yourself the time and money for a remount. If it's more than -2 and your having trouble skiing switch then change it.
Also consider how long your gonna have the ski for. If your growing and gonna need bigger skis in a season just keep it as is so you can get higher re-sell value if you plan to sell.

Most bindings only adjust +/- 1cm, and most adjust only via the heelpiece. If you are able to adjust a binding to fir your new boot size, this means that your midsole mark (center of boot, this is matched up with the mount location in most cases) will likely shift forward or backwards. Go to a shop to get your new boots and new binding configuration checked, it should be tested, especially if the binding needs adjustment.

In your case, you are probably gonna have to remount. Take it to the shop and let them look at it, I wouldnt trust binding adjustment advice given by someone who hasnt physically seen your setup.

boot center would be about 1-1.5cm back depending on how the shell sizes go up.
might need to remount the heel piece, or remount everything if you really want center, but a cm doesn't make a noticeable difference.

Alright no i have another question, if i have a ski centered with a 25.5, and i wanted to get a 26.5/27 would i be able to keep that binding in the same place? would 27.5 work too?

This just happened to me. I had a 26.5 boot and sized down to a 25, ended up having to remount. I was centered before and now I'm a little under -1 back

So would i have to remount for the 25.5 to 27? And if i didn't remount would i be able to tell on rails and going switch??

^ you may be able to tell but normally a cm or two isn't totally noticeable and should not effect switch or rail riding to much.

yeah that's what i was thinking. but i just realized the bindings only adjustes 1 cm.... so i guess i will be getting the 26.5....

Anyone think the binding could adjust to 1.5? or does it depend on how they were drilled?

The tab-heel versions of Look PX and Rossi Axial2 adjust more than 15mm each way. It's something like 20mm forward and 25mm backward. Get your shop guy to check.

Do you fit in the 26.5 shell?

Unless your feet are gonna be growing a full size over the season, well, buy boots that fit. They're important, and arguable the most important piece of gear you will buy.

Thats for the tips guys... but huge let down to find out my bindings only adjust .6cm .... so i guess ill have to remount the ski after i jsut mounted them!!!!  i dont get why my feet half to grow so much in 1 month
