How good is the mystery about this movie ... In an over hyped world of online edits only Candide Thovex could create such a buzz with a movie no one has seen awesome so can't wait to see this film

simply mindblowing, just got back, best film of the year in my opinion (heaps better than sunny and that was a fucking sick film,) , my favourite ski film of all time so far, very inspirational probably changing the way I think about skiing completely, the fact that most of the shots in the film were of the same person is phenomal, made me realise that perhaps skiing isn't progressing very fast at all! YOU THE BOSS CANDIDE

This. The guy is just ridiculous. He does lines that firstly very few people could do, but more importantly, 10 times more aggressively than anyone else could possibly do it. I felt like i just watched 2 hours of him beating up mountains, yet at the same time, you can tell he has such a great deal of respect for where he is and what he's doing.

Also the title of the film couldn't be better, I went in expecting to learn a lot about him, similar to with Like A Lion which tells you a lot about t-hall. But the thing is, he's still such a mystery, such a closed book.

No one like him really, in my mind without a doubt the greatest skier we have, no just because he's talented, but because of his whole attitude and respect he has for others and for skiing as a whole.

Also, was it you that shouted that twice during the film haha?

although the film really was amazing and candide without a doubt is the best skier on this planet, i was a bit let down because i had known like 70-80% of the shots. there was a lot of his really old stuff showing how he became the best and shots of the candide kameras and stuff that was in the teaser...

still a really sick movie and definately worth watching!

I was just thinking about this the other day. You could argue that Candide and Tanner are two of the biggest icons of freeskiing, and yet they are so polarly different. Tanner makes a movie about his life, posts on the internet, trys to go to the olympics, and all this media stuff, while Candide is just this mystical guy that no one knows anything about. He will pretty much dissappear from the spotlight for years, and then comes back with this banger film.

Not hating on Tanner, its just idk, Candide is such a mystical figure you know?

Went to the premiere in Paris, well, I am a student in Cinema and I can tell you there's some real hard and precise work behind every shot.

As for the skiing, Candide as usual, makes the hardest runs and pillow lines look way too smooth, all in a sober, natural and humble way. It's more a documentary on his career.
