Today, I was Fitted by Shea Flynn's First Sponsor.

So today I went in to Arlberg in Freeport Maine to get some new boots. The fitter was talking to me about how the only kid he ever sponsored came out of Lost Valley, which may be the smallest mountain in the country. I asked who it was and said it was Shea, and I thought that was pretty cool. He said he hooked him up with a shop sponsorship when he was 11, and he blew up from there. Just thought I'd share my little story with you guys. Carry on

Arlberg in Scarborough sucks, can't say anything about the one in Freeport but if it's anything like the one in Scarborough...

It's decent I'd say. Not much selection for boots, but they had Drop Kicks and that's what I went with. They had good selection of skis, some nice outerwear/hoodies/casual wear, as well as some accessories (helmets, goggles etc.). Solid shop. I thought.

Shea is a very down to earth gu y who is smart enough to know a good shop. With that in mind, if you went ther cause Shey went there you didn't do your homework. Your just a custy

I honestly had no idea that any skier of significance had ever set foot in the shop. I went to get fitted for boots, off of a recommendation from a friend. I was talking to the guy and it just came up in the conversation. I could care less if the shop had any interaction with Shea, I just thought that it was pretty cool to know how such a great skier got his start in the industry.

A lot of skiers get their start with a local shop sponsorship, especially grassroots guys like Shea.

I think that's rad. Its awesome that they supported him before he blew up. That adds legit factor, no?

i go to arlberg in scarborough to get my gear, and ended up buying some new chronics and griffons from them this year. told them to mount it center, if they dont ill fuck shit up. I told them to mount my old skis center last year and they did a traditional mount, so we'll see. other than that its a sick shop and im stoked to know that shea was connected to the shop in freeport, I was in there yesterday!

That should be a reminder of how unsuccesful your career as a skier is and that you need to work harder/
