anyone ever broken ipod/music player while skiing?

other then cd, tape, and mini disc players....?


like i was thinking about getting a metal case but im thinking that when you brake a music player skiing, it is jsut becuase of the jult from falling and there really isnt anything you can do about that.

I saw these mp3 players on TV, think they were by creative, but they could resist a ton of pressure, then ran them over with a car and smashed them with a hammer, and they still played though they were a little scratched up

yeah, mine is fine. that sucks about fuckin up a 40g. but ive droped mine onto cement like 10 times, fine. and when its in a pocket, its pretty protected. but if your real worried, get a flash player. they are not nrealy as nice, but they are cheap and next to impossible to break.

yeah i have droped my iPod all over the place...it gets a little scrached here and there but other than that it plays fine, doesnt freeze or anything. plus if its inside of the pockets on the inside of your jacket, you should be fine, the jacket should soften a fall pretty good.

i dont know if i will ski with mine, i have a 30gb creative. and i have a 2year plan for it, so if it breaks i can get a new one, but i dont know if i will ski with it.

i ski with mine, in all honestly, most of the impact damage done to mine was my fault apart from skiing. and if your going to fall hard enough to fuck it up, you probably have wors things to worry about, i keep it in the chest pocket. the only thing i'd be worried about are rails.

I've absolutely fucked up two CD players, but those things aren't worth anything. Since I started using a cheap flash MP3 player, I've had no problems, aside from battery rundown. It eats those things up.

iv droped my ipod like 6 times since iv goten it 4 months ago, and never from higher than 3 feet. Now some of the playlists dont work, and it freezes when it starts to play some songs, and then doesnt unfreeze for a goof 5 minutes.

My cassette player could stand up to anything. I had it in my jacket, which was tied around my waist cause it was STEAMING hot. My jacket slid off my waist and I stepped on it while getting my cappichino and my cassette player was still rolling. Didn't miss a beat!

I left an Ipod on top of a car and it fell off going about 30.. Nothing happened it worked absolutely fine...

yeah i have since got a new i pod and its been pretty roughed up and works hella good i ran it over on my motorcycle and it droped off my dresser and hit my weights and was fine been dropped on concrete countless times

i recommend the i skin it help a hella lot drops on concrete and just like bounces its great

One of my buddies was listening to my 10 gig when he fell f a rail and cracked the case. He freaked out and thought that i was going to kill him, but i just cantacted mac and they sent me a box to send to them, the box got there 1 day after i talked to them, then i sent it and 2 days latre got a brand new 10 gig. It was awsome and i didn't have to kill my friend.

im on my 5th ipod, but i got all the replacement free since they broke within the warrenty

i purchased a shell to put my mini ipod in.....the shell is hecka hard and it seems like it will protect the ipod....i just wish you could buy cases that are waterproof too

yup i broke my ipod 6 months after i got it, but luckily it was still under warrenty so i sent it back and got a new one.
