Canon XA10 HD

Looking into getting a nicer camera to film the documentary I am making which is being funded by kickstarter.

Main thing I had to look for were XLR jacks which it as, so I am really just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this camera and could give a little review.

oh damn a girl in my documentary production class just copped that cam. She doesn't have much technical experience but I'll see how she likes it so far.

Budget? What format are you looking to shoot in? Buying an older hpx170 or hmc150 would be great for this project and be better than this camera you have listed.

I would like it to be somewhere around 2 grand.I don't want a big camera because I am also going to film skiing/tramping and skating with it.

HVX isn't really too big to film skiing or skating with, a lot of people do. But I see what you're saying. I've used an XA10 HD before and didn't like it that much, but I didn't get into it that much because I was just borrowing it
