Big Mountain Comp Skis-

Looking at adding a super chargy ski to my quiver this season. I was something with little to no tail rocker but a good amount in the tip to fly over stuff. Stiff is ideal want something that handles well at speeds and in variable snow.



One ski I was looking at is the Atomic Atlas- I like it because it has 0 tail rocker and is a stiff beast. Thing I am concerned about is it is super fat so I'm not sure how well it will handle in low snow conditions.

Am open to any suggestions so fire away thanks guys.

Just Ooooogling over the Moment Belafonte's. They looks SO sick and blister review is getting me really ancy for a pair haha.

I'd second the Wren suggestion.

It's burly, powerful, and never scared. As far as I've been able to to tell, there is no speed limit, and the stiff tail is a really nice if you get bucked to the backseat. 20cm of tip rocker for just enough float but lots of contact length so that it rails groomers.

It's not a ski for everyone, but for folks that are looking to charge/comp ski, it's certainly one of the best out there.

There's a ton of great skis that are just what your looking for. The 4FRNT renegade would be ideal. Also check out the Nordica Helldorado. I checked out a pair yesterday. They are super stiff. And barely any tail rocker.

Never ridden the Belafonte, but form what I've sound like they maybe you ticket.

Wrens are going to be my 'chargy' skis for the coming season

I just got a pair of the belafontes and bibby specials... the belafonte works for all mountain as well. The Bibby special is more tuned for Big Mountain...

Blister Gear reviews tested the prototype bibby special. Moment re tuned it for the final production model...so the 2012 special is the same as the 2013 governor...

Seriously when i got the 196 bibby special in the mail I was astonished. It makes my other skis (including belafonte) look like pixy sticks....These things are meant for serious ass skiers or people who are Big and Tall . there heavy, and stiff as a 2x4. but IF your good enough GET THESE...there only 399 on momentouterwear and suchhh a sweet ski.

The belafonte is burly as well. but not like "Holy Sh!t" burly

Ya i would think so. I havent skied them but theyre pretty stiff, they seem damp.

Moment really does an exceptional job of making charging skis playful and there playful skis charging...

Im so glad to live in this new era of modern handmade American skis. 20 years from now moment and on3p will be having sweatshop workers make their skis too...

Well I wound up pulling the Trigger on the moments super stoked. Got them Mounted with dukes. I liked the look of the bibby Special but I like that these ones are a little less wide so good if i ever have to wiggle my way into a drop. Thanks for the advice though everyone got a few more ideas If I ever decide to expand my quiver further!!!
