Hey guys,
i've been a long time Newschooler, haven't posted much these last few years but i wanted to take a minute and post. just wanted to thank everyone that supports this section and contributes knowledge, ideas, videos, and everything inspirational. seeing the videos produced by fellow skiers over the years is what made me want to buy my first camera, take it to the hill every weekend, sacrifice any chance of a social life to edit the latest footage, and eventually think seriously about a career behind the lens. i went to college to study economics, that blows let me tell you. i'm a senior now and been feeling the "real world" pressure alot lately. long story short, i made the life decision to pursue videography as a career and say fuck economics. i'm not saying im the best out there, but i've learned a thing or two over the years and i've found success lately. i worked for the marketing department of my college this summer, am currently working as a filmer at a live music recording studio/concert venue in burlington vt, and am starting to get some job offers for future work. i was thinking about the big picture over a spliff today and i gotta give newschoolers the credit. if it werent for editors like evan heath, zach moxley, pickupfulofsnow (sorry, dont' know your name, but you got mad talent), just to name a few, i wouldn't have such a high standard to hold my own work to. studying both pro and am ski videos has taught me everything i've learned. thanks guys, keep the bar high. peace.
