Hostages in Iraq

I was just watching the news and they were going over the whole British Hostage thing again. Anyways, i was just thinking about that. Imagine you were like Tony Blair or someone who leads a country that had hostages facing death if you didnt remove your troops. What would you do? Would you not negotiate and condenm them to death? Would you pull your troops out and let the terrorists win?

you don't negotiate with terrorists. if you do they win. soldiers know this.

If you pull out your troops, it will just lead to the death of some OTHER people...

By taking out your troops and givning away to the threat, you automatically encourage other terrorists to take more hostages to reach their goals.

If terrorists never get ANYTHING done by taking a hostage - ind the end - they will stop.

Ofcourse some terrorists will continue just to spread horror, but the ones that do it for political reasons, will realize that it isn't working.

It's pretty simple actually.

Yes, pull the troops out immediately, because the terrorists are SO likely not to go ahead and kill them anyways. They're very true to their word, you know.

tough to say, from a political stand point blair needs to look strong, pulling troops out would show weakness
