I propose a theory that the media ISN'T stereotypically portraying gender roles. Look at how many movies and TV shows are about chicks being the badass/ best police officer/ best fighter. Fuck realism and good cinema, empower women! Use that.

I think that sometimes the media goes so far out of it's way to prove stereotypes wrong that it just reinforces the stereotype by drawing attention to it
