How many of you guys ride with backplates?

I'm just curious about this. Many of my friends ride with backplates and helmets all the time. Some of them have never had one on. Are most people using them, or does alot of people ride without them, including pros? Thoughts?

i never gave a single shit if your point about helmets is standing lollllll. your comment on football is absurdly untrue, even with the word relatively. you are doing a huge injustice to the great people who are trying to bring attention to the subject. but i'm not shocked that you're not ashamed of telling lies. in fact you are proud of it lol?

I'll give you a quick solution to the problem of head injuries in football: Stop running head first into each other at speed. Quite simple.

thinking about getting the poc vpd vest, those who ride with one, can you tell me if the sizing is true to what they say? i am 183cm and not sure if i should go for the M or L/XL. there doesn't seem to be a shop around here to try it on.

Wanting to learn some harder inverts this season, but i dont want to be dumb and end it with an injury... Is POC the best brand for backbraces? or are there other better ones. also I sometimes have some knee problems so where/what brand is best for a knee brace?

Well people know what they sign up for when they play football, if they can't handle the injuries, don't do it.

see there's the problem.......people actually don't know what they sign up for. you're saying all the families who sign their children up for football know that head injuries in the sport are very common? they should but the reality is that they aren't aware because the NFL and people like you are telling them the exact opposite lol.

This.. although the mouth guard probably wouldnt of stopped me from breaking my jaw.. It definitely wouldnt of made it any worse. And Ive had too many concussions as it is.

Well that is just plain stupid. I can only speculate that this is a result of the culture of lawsuits/complacency in the USA. I mean, why would you need anyone to tell you that 30+ years of bashing your head against other peoples heads could lead to brain injury? I simply just don't get it, it is common sense. So if no one told you that it was bad for you to jump of a tall building, you would assume that there was no danger involved?

sorta like how you weren't aware that head injuries in football are common until someone told you? why did you need someone to tell you that using your head as a weapon could lead to brain injury? should be common sense...... so you're right, we can only speculate that people like this are just plain stupid.

Well, as I remember, I said severe head injuries, which would be different from head injuries. I am, and was, fully aware that football cause head injuries, that is simple logic, however you seem to think that normal people are not capable of understanding that logic, and that evil people like myself are deceiving them.
And I used the word relative. That is to illustrate that compared to golf, football has a lot of head injuries, but that is to be expected in such a violent sport. The word relative was added to convey that there indeed are head injuries in football, but that they are significantly lessened by the use of helmets. Everything is relative, footballers (soccer players) experience more head injuries than normal non footballers, just from heading the ball repeatedly. Relative, I guess it's a word you don't understand, and so you misunderstand my point, and go on your moronic rant. You insist on reading stuff into what I said, which is what's fuelling your idiocy. But again, I'm quite amused, so I guess it's all good.

I found a POC backplate at the thrift store last year ad have never looked back. I have forgot to put it on a few times and it seems weird not to wear it now.
