lol well i stopped reading after here cuz someone is clearly talking out of their ass...
explain how a helmet stops a person's brain from bouncing around inside their skull after impact?
well i'm not going to do that since i never said i was against the use of helmets? my comment was about the untrue example of football players.
good for you though.
Impact protectors
An impact protector is a shield worn within clothing that is designed to absorb and/or spread the energy of a blow to the body.
Do impact protectors work?
Impact protectors cannot save you in a major impact but may reduce the severity of an injury. They work by slowing down the rate of transfer of the forces in an impact to a less damaging or non-damaging level. This is called impact “attenuation”.
ok sure, "In football, severe head injuries are relatively rare, deaths even more so." i couldn't even paste that without laughing.
i definitely did not misunderstand what you said. what you said is untrue. elaborate enough?
lol well you said both head injuries and death from football are relatively rare........which is extremely false(wrong) and probably offensive to many affected families. the only way you could shine any bit of truth on what you said is to say diagnosed head injuries are rare.
a sport where players literally use their heads as weapons but apparently head injuries just don't transpire? wat?
do you know why these football players are shooting themselves in the chest instead of the head when they commit suicide??? no it's not to preserve their face for open coffin.
Well, I admit that my assumption that severe head injuries and deaths in football are rare, is just that, an assumption. However I never said, like you claim, that they never happen. Still, you have not presented any proof that my assumption is incorrect, other than just saying that it is. Please show me some evidence to support your claim that severe head injuries, death, even by suicide, are rampant in football, as you seem to think. I mean I'm not the biggest football fan (i'm from Europe) but I do follow general sports news, and I have not encountered many stories about these incidents, so please enlighten me.
The comment about why they shoot themselves in the chest is just weird, and does not seem to have anything to do with whether or not a helmet prevents head injuries, which this whole argument is about. And by the way, on account of your quite incoherent way of arguing, I'm not really sure what you're trying to say, is it that helmets do not help? Or are you just talking a lot of bullshit and trolling, cus it really seems that you are?.
so first you were standing firmly behind your remark, now you're saying it was just an assumption? lol no, it was an example, kid. i will not show you evidence because you're a fucking moron. do you think numerous concussions has any correlation with brain injury? apparently not? if you follow football enough to use it in examples then you should atleast be aware that even bounties exist in football.
if you don't know jack shit about something, don't use it as an example. these players shoot themselves in the chest so they can preserve their brain for autopsy to study the cerebral trauma from football.........if you're not even aware that this is happening and that the NFL is constantly in court for player negligence then i don't know where you get the audacity to ask me to prove your bullshit wrong. if you follow football enough to use it in examples then you should atleast be aware that there are even bounties in football lol.
and wtf......this whole "argument" is about helmets???? no.....it's about how you used an untrue example of football and then told me to "prove you wrong?" the only bullshit prevalent here was your comment about head injuries not being common in football.
It is absolutely mind boggling how much of a fucking retard you are. You take things out of context, make them fit your own pseudo argument, and then rant like a fucking 10 year old girl.
"i will not show you evidence because you're a fucking moron".
Now that's legit arguing right there. I used the example of football to illustrate that helmets work, because if football players were not wearing helmets, they would be dead/severely injured on a daily basis. So you misunderstood that, which is to be expected when you display the intellect of an 8 year old. It's all good that you know all about football injuries, but it has no bearing on my argument, and your examples only serve to boost your ego and make you sound cool on an internet forum. I think you need to shut your fucking mouth and get the fuck out of here with your bullshit before you make yourself look even more stupid. Kid.
you said, "head injuries in football are relatively rare." i said this is untrue.(nothing taken out of context since you repeatedly told me to "prove you wrong" lol) then you take my comment out of context to say i'm against the use of helmets? hypocrisy lol? plus there was no "pseudo argument".........you're comment was just so inaccurate that it was offensive, especially to affected families and players who are trying to change the level of safety in football while uneducated people like you absurdly claim head injuries are rare.
how about next time when you don't know jack shit about something, just choose a different example to use? seems like common sense, have a nice day.
Well I've never met you, but your general bullshit in this thread makes me think you might be retarded.
By the way, what specifically makes me a kid?
And I said that head injuries are relatively rare, there's a difference. Your insistance on trying to argue that I am making light of head injuries in footbal is just stupid, because you know that was never the point of my argument.
And why is it a surprise to football players that they suffer from the long term effects of running head first into each other repeatedly, I mean that is hardly surprising.
I maintain that my point still stands, regardless of whether or not you have some problem with the example I used.
