Hello NS! So I made this thread to tell you all about a cool project that me and my mom are working on and would love some help.

Here's the story:

So basically 36 years ago (when my mom was 12) she wrote away to an international pen pal organization an they paired her up with a girl named Lena who lives in Sweden and they still write to this day. But the catch is that they have never met each-other in person, even though they know everything about each-other.

So what me and my mom want to do is make a 20-30 minute long documentary about this story and we will go to Sweden in June and they will meet for the first time.

We set up a kickstarter to help fund the equipment I need to make the film and here's the link to the page. It's been up for a day and were already up to almost 2 grand!

I made the promo-video also.

That's a fantastic story. Or it will be once we get to actually hear/see the whole thing. And what a great way to spend quality time with your mom, to help her with this project.

I remember having a pen pal in grade school. And once again in early high school. It surely did not last 36 years. That's impressive.

false actually, I am in a film class at my school and have made multiple films and won an award at a film festival for a documentary me and my friend made about his sheep farm.

woah dont know how I missed this, thats crazy man! I was gonna say it sounds like some bullshit way to get a freetrip then I saw that theyve been exchanging for 30+ years, damn!
