Donate or even if you can't afford or don't want to, please at least try to spread the word to friends and family via Facebook, Twitter, etc. It would be really cool to come together and help her out.
I grew up going to an art school; however, I understand that it sounds like an insane price for an instrument and she could make the same music on something for a lot cheaper. You are simply just wrong. It is not the same, when an instrument works with you it is just a part of you and there is no going back, it becomes perfection. As an artist I understand that there are certain things that you just need to make art. This is one of those things for her.
