Epoxy dying for repairs?

i know that there are threads about epoxy fixing top sheet chips. but i am asking what you should use for dying the epoxy black

Russian prison inmates shave off pieces of their shoe sole and burn it into an ash then pee in it. that is what they use for tattoos but im sure it will work for you too.

they make dye specifically for epoxies. Although thats a bit of trouble to go through just for a colored repair.

Proper way would be to buy the proper black dye for epoxy.


Cheap way to do it.... Buy black model paint (like for model airplanes, cars etc..)

It does work.

Epoxy pigments. Use very little pigment, a little goes a very long way.

But I've heard the acrylic paint works, never tried that though.

I've done this a ton of times on PWCs with perfect results...

Rub a piece of #2 pencil lead (graphite) onto sandpaper and mix it into the epoxy to the point where you get the desired shade of black that you're looking for.

Use black epoxy putty instead. Milliput is good.
