The more time that passes, the more information you forget. So if you have a test coming up soon, you should be studying only for that test. Then if you have a test coming up after that, then you should start studying for that test only.
If each week you study for each class, your not maximizing the value of your study time. Your either going to have to study more or perform worse than if you prioritized by studying the information at its optimal time: as close before the test as possible.
Furthermore, you can read a lot quicker than someone can speak. Factor in the time it takes to walk to class, the time it takes the professor to get started with the lecture. Don't you often hear information that's not going to be on the test (ie current events, or an interesting tangent or story)? When your studying on your own you can prioritize the information you study. You can do it in an order that makes sense and can skip or move quickly through the stuff you know and spend more time with the harder stuff or the stuff that appears on the test more.
The only reason why you should go to class is if you can't learn the material on your own (ie disability) or if the information isn't available or if there's attendence. Most classes have powerpoints, notes, text books, video lectures (I know people who watch them at 1/3 speed faster), or something that you can learn from.
Also some people don't care if they don't learn as much or don't do as well. But if your someone who wants to do better in school, prioritizing your study time by not going to class can improve your grades with the same amount of effort or less than your already putting in!
