I associate the BBC (government owned station in an anti-Bush gov't, with exceptions such as Blair) and the Guardian because they both have a history of extreme liberalism. This is not the first time The Guardian has done such drastic measures. Recently they launched a campaign in Ohio that encouraged their readers to write to Ohio voters telling them not to vote for Bush. They retracted the campaign as soon as they realized it was doing more harm for Kerry than it was good. The Guardian is an extremely liberal paper and in Europe liberalism dwarfs the style of liberalism we are accustomed to in the states.

And I don't like making generalizations but I find it fair to equate most of Europe to this mentality as it has been shown in many of their polls and media outlets.

Please don't equate the BBC with anything along the lines of a ridiculously left leaning newspaper in a country internationally known for having what one could call 'the most ridiculous press coverage anywhere', simply because both the BBC and The Guardian are located in the same country. The BBC has an amazing reputation for fairness and accuracy, and though some scandals have rocked it recently, it's still light years ahead of what most Americans watch, read, and consider 'news'.

I do and always have defined myself as a conservative. I have read Moore's books and seen his films, something no sheep would ever do. I constantly read democraticunderground.com and moveon.org, and Michael Moore's site. I am also a fan of Liberal commentator Alan Colmes because I believe he is rather objective despite the fact that I don't agree with what he has to say. I enjoy challegning my political beliefs on my own record because I find that it solidifies the base I stand on. So if those are the actions of sheep than I am proud to be one. I do not agree with Bush 100% of the time but I do agree with the majority of his policies.

How is 'Fox news is biased' a similar claim to 'One editorial from a newspaper says we should kill the president, so a news outlet from the same country must think the same thing'? I don't think I was being hypocritical. You can claim BBC bias all you want, but I'm afraid they aren't promoting presidential homicide. Nor, though this might seem disappointing given your apparent dislike for the continent, is Europe. You'll have to look elsewhere for pointless sensationalism, I'm afraid.

As for me arguing you, I've heard all of the points you've made since you joined argued at least ten times over during the past year, and better argued more than once. I'm tired of repeating myself. B-Wald, I know I said the BBC and Guardian are biased. I was calling JD a hypocrite for lambasting me on my statements and turning around and blasting FOX. I don't have much respect for someone who won't counter another person's point just because of the source it came from. If the source is wrong certainly it can be debunked....right?

And Rekker, just so you know, I am a right-winger and I have no problem with that. Nor have I ever denied being a right-winger.

JD did I ever accuse the BBC of promoting assassination? No. I simply stated that they, like The Guardian, are liberally biased.

And your right, I don't like Europe...their diplomacy that is. In my opinion most of the governments are far too socialistic for my liking. I also believe that they put to much faith in the UN. An organization that I find to be rather corrupt. Clinton wants to take a run at being the head of the UN and I believe that that could be the best thing for that organization (despite the fact that as a President I did not agree with the majority of things he did) as long as Clinton does push for the UN to interfere with American politics.

I find the article a bit ridiculous. They made their point but then finishing it up with an assassination call on our president makes their point completely ridiculous. Jibtech is correct. most of the world does not like us right now. BBC is biased in their own way. they are not left or right. Because they do not support Bush doesn not mean if Kerry is elected they will support him. Fox News is leaning towards the right as CNN is towards the left. The BBC is from another prospective. For any of you to think that a news station does not have political bias, you are wrong. ALL STATIONS HAVE BIAS. Al Jazera is obviously in support of Middle Eastern, Quorran led politics and does not support the US.
Europe hated FDR for a long time and then after we saved them in World War 2, we were loved. Now the French and German's seem to have forgotten that. I think we were rushed into this war in Iraq but that argument is over. We're already there and it's clear from watching the debate that neither candidate has a clear exit plan.

Ok first of all, the text is dumb. If there is a God, religion teaches us he won't change the opinions of Americans on the night of november first to make Kerry win. I find it amusing that the term 'extreme liberalism' came up in this slugfest. No extreme left wing sources have been mentioned in either sides case, as per usual within America the argument is between right wing, and a more centre ideal. I'm not going to condone either candidate because they are both rich men with an incredible disconnect from the people, the only reason the world wants Kerry is because he isn't bush, he policies are hardly extreme towards the left.

There is nothing extreme in liberalism because in contemporary terms, liberals are fence sitters between the right and the left, the problem in the united states system is that because of the cold war and conditions therein, there is no left wing voice in main stream america. This leaves Democrats in the centre to be portrayed as commies because they are as far left as America knows.

About the article, a truly bad idea to print, no one should be threatened with death. If they had done their history and were not speaking in jest (Which the British do sometimes), they wouldn't have called for assassination because they would know that shooting a President only means that their party will win a landslide in the forthcomming election, and you Bush haters, if you think things were bad with him, imagine 4 years of President Cheney
