i got a ticket on 10/4/12 for solo driving in the carpool lane and idk how to resolve it cus i wasnt paying much attention to the cop when he was telling me what to do. ive tried calling and shit but the automated system said my number isnt up yet and shit. how long till my ticket number is up in the system. any cops on newschoolers that can help me out? I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA
And here is a thread that went from a young man asking for a solution to the ticket he was given for driving in the HOV lane, to an argument over a single line from a movie that came out in 1994...
As someone who (unfortunately) has had several run-ins with the wonderful safety officers of the glorious California Highway Patrol, I may be of assistance.
On the ticket, usually at the bottom, there will be a time and date to appear in court, as well as an address. In addition to this, the court will mail you a letter explaining that you must show up in court at the location and address mentioned on the citation itself (as a reminder).....or..... pay x dollar amount and mail to the court before the appearance date. If for whatever reason, you lost the citation and the letter, contact the CHP office in the area the citation was made, and they can usually look it up based on your plate number.
do NOT, DO NOT forget to pay and/or skip out on your court date, they will fuck you. Fines around $1000 and revocation of your driver's license are real penalties. Oh, and most counties handle this through collections agencies, so that stays on your credit for ~6 years.
Also, you're a dumbass for trying to get away with that. There are signs like every 1/4 mile reminding you that it's a carpool lane and even like every half mile it reminds you the minimum fine is like $341 or something.
