I'm into getting FKS or Pivots and im ready to drop the extra cash. But I was wondering if a 14 DIN is too much. I normally ride with my DIN at 6.5 or 7, just wondering if I might be better off with a 12 DIN binding. I'm 5'9" 140-145 lbs
Just because he has a binding with a DIN range of 14 doesn't mean he is gonna ride it a 14...Pivot/FKS 14 have a DIN range 5-14. You'll be ok with the Pivot/FKS 14s, if you can find 12s they'd a bit better, but they'll be harder to find. Normally you want to be about 2 above the minimum DIN and 2 below the maximum DIN so the spring isn't too loose or too tight. So 6.5 isn't that far off, plus it's possible you've grown over the summer and now your DIN is up to 7 (but make sure you don't just set it at that, have a tech make sure that's right).
